What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnosis is a natural state of trance similar to that achieved in meditation and which can be induced by concentration on a single idea or focus. In a therapeutic setting, hypnosis provides a very powerful tool to access subconscious patterns of thought and behaviour and resolve issues that lie beyond the capabilities of conscious resolution. The profound state of relaxation and solution-focused awareness provides a context for new insights and understandings to be formed facilitated by the therapist.

Modern hypnotherapy utilises the clinically proven techniques of CBT, Solution focused brief therapy and other approaches and combines then with a state of trance to help people make significant positive changes with a relatively short period of time. Resolving unwelcome habits and thought patterns at a subconscious level means that hypnosis literally helps the parts that other approaches can’t reach!

Treatment is tailored to each client and a programme of therapy is designed according to your preferences, requirements, personality and needs.

Easing stress and Anxiety

Stress and Anxiety can be a common complaint in today’s society and most people encounter it at some point. When it becomes too much to cope with it can affect our quality of life. Excessive and prolonged stress can lead to illness, physical and emotional exhaustion, increased anxiety and even panic attacks. When we come under excessive pressure we tend to respond with either anxiety, anger or depression or a combination of all three.

Lifting Depression

Depression is perhaps the most common psychological disorder today. Often when it does occur, the individual will turn in on themselves and refuse to engage with others. Severity can range from being almost totally dysfunctional to having some of the symptoms associated with the illness.

  • Depressed mood and fearfulness
  • Sleep disturbances

  • Loss of pleasure or interest in usual activities
  • Difficulties in thinking, concentrating etc.
