Reiki – The Usui System of natural healing

ReikiWhat does it mean?

Reiki is a Japanese word meaning Universal Life Energy. REI means “The invisible force of all essence” and KI means “that which creates, sustains and nurtures all living things”.

Where does it come from?

Originally a Tibetan meditation and self empowerment system, which gradually got lost in being passed down orally, it was re-discovered in the mid 19th century by a Japanese Christian monk, Dr. Mikao Usui. He dedicated his life to developing a form of energy balancing, which worked and could systematically be passed on to others.

What is it and what can it do for me?

Reiki is a unique experience: the sensations and benefits can vary from person to person. It is powerful yet subtle, safe and effective. It is the energy that flows through all living things and which can be activated for purposes of healing. The reiki therapist channels this energy through her hands to the recipient, activating the body’s natural ability to heal itself. Reiki is a very simple but extremely powerful process. It is performed with the patient laying down fully clothed on a massage table. The therapist gently places her hands over the areas of the body. You will feel a sensation of gentle warmth or tingling and as the energy comes into balance a deep sense of relaxation and wellbeing. Reiki accelerates the body’s own natural healing mechanisms. Mentally and emotionally. It helps dissolve old entrenched, rigid mindsets and negative attitudes.

How does it work?

Reiki as a treatment greatly enhances mental and emotional well-being. It empowers personal vision, creativity abundance and most especially physical performance. Micheal Flately (lord of the dance) is a perfect example of this.

A subtle Japanese form of energy balancing which focuses on restoring the body’s natural harmony. A good catalyst for healing and supporting any change in your life.
